Renewable energy expert José Joaquín Muñoz Osuna joins the Capcora team.

Leading consulting firm Capcora is enhancing its presence in the energy transition sector by appointing renewable energy veteran José Joaquín Muñoz Osuna as a new Director and head of the team in Hamburg, effective November 2023. With more than 20 years of industry experience, José Joaquín will strengthen the company's debt and M&A advisory team. Bringing expertise from prominent international players, he will significantly boost Capcora’s activities in the Iberian markets and PPA-related businesses.

Born in Spain, José Joaquín's career journey began with Diplomas in Economics and Actuarial Mathematics from Universidad Complutense, Madrid. In 2000, he embarked on his project and structured finance career at Unicredit Group in Germany, eventually leading their branch’s project finance team in Spain. Over a decade, he engaged in lending, arranging, and financial advisory, gaining expertise in infrastructure and renewable energy project financing.

In 2010, José Joaquín transitioned to the borrower side, focusing on the photovoltaic sector. He established and led structured finance and M&A teams at prominent international players in Madrid and Berlin such as SunEdison and Hanwha Q Cells, working globally. For the last 7 years he served as the Head of Project Finance and PPA at ib vogt. His teams handled diverse responsibilities, including non-recourse financing, structured financing, M&A processes, and PPA origination and negotiation.
